In pursue of revealing new compelling meanings in jazz moments and painting the subterranean quality of jazz, Emrâ invited over 50 jazz musicians to her NYC studio. The technical requirements to pose for this particular project required long time exposures. Though this hardship gave way to an improvised collaborative session between the musician and the photographer, painting jazz images together. The music for the installation is composed and performed by Nasheet Waits. The images are all installed in back-lit wooden boxes.
